The vision of the Central Church of Christ is to be a
friendly, outreaching family of believers, firmly rooted in the Word
of God, who are dedicated to glorifying God, teaching the gospel of
Jesus Christ to our families, our community and the world, promoting
spiritual growth and involvement for each member, and serving as a
home for all who seek to worship and serve God.

Minister Search
Congregation of 80-100 meeting on Sunday morning is seeking a full
time preaching minister.
Central is located on the sunny Mississippi Gulf Coast and offers
many outdoor recreational opportunities. Our congregation has served
as one the focal points for helping our area recover from the
devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina which struck the coast in
August 2005. We have coordinated the efforts of literally thousands
of volunteers from around the country and from almost every
religious denomination who have used our facilities in providing
relief to those in our community over the past almost two and
one-half years. That effort is still on-going and our worship
services typically include current members who were reached during
our relief work, visitors from the community, and volunteers in our
area. Our recognition and reputation is excellent in our area, and
the opportunity to reach others with the gospel remains great. We
are an aging congregation with few children and our desire is to
continue our outreach, attracting young families if possible.
Central is a family of loving, friendly believers, progressive yet
rooted in mainstream Biblical doctrine, who welcome all those who
would desire to learn of Jesus and follow him.
Central desires a preaching minister who is mature in the Word,
evangelistic-minded and gladly willing to help our church continue
to reach out to our community with help and with the Gospel on a
long term basis. The ideal candidate should have a degree from a
recognized Christian school but those with equivalent preaching
experience will be equally considered. A candidate's computer skills
are a plus as our church maintains a web site, produces a Sunday
bulletin, and currently uses Microsoft Power Point in our worship
assemblies. The position is open as of February 1, 2008 and
interested candidates should send a resume, references, and a recent
audio or video sermon to the above church address for consideration.

in our evaluation.
