HURRICANE KATRINA RELIEF INFORMATION

Work Crew List     Central Church of Christ

Thanks to everyone who contributed money or came to the Coast to love and help those who were affected by Hurricane Katrina. David Kilbern is still as busy as ever directing work crews and working in the community. We were able to remodel part of our building to place a dining hall and commercial kitchen so that we could continue to house and feed volunteer groups. However, we are facing some challenges.

David and Elaine have been volunteering now for two years. For a period of time a generous church in Louisiana helped them with some limited funding to assist with their ongoing bills. They are currently working with zero help coming in. Like most of us, they will not be able to continue to offer the service they have been offering without help.

We no longer have the funds to purchase materials to work with, which limits the kind of work we can do in the community.

We are still interested in hosting volunteer groups, but our ability to provide work and materials has greatly diminished.

John Dobbs will be moving to Monroe, Louisiana to work with the Forsythe Avenue church of Christ. This site may not be up to date. Please call or e-mail David if you want to schedule a group to come down.

Again, we can never express our gratitude for the hard work and love shown in this community through believers who traveled to the Coast to serve strangers. God has been glorified. It is our hope that He will continue to be glorified as we serve those who cannot help themselves.
